Blended Learning Flex Model Education
We are based on the principles of the Blended Learning model that was developed from the “Flex Model” methodology.
The description of this model comes from an educational innovation, from Clayton Christensen Institute for Disruptive Innovation Space and the thought of redesigning schools to reflect the learning needs of the XXI century students. Using component opportunities to develop skills and passion, like internships, project based learning, a solid study plan of computer science and learning systems based on proficiency. It’s clear that this kind of experiences don’t fit well with the traditional school. In fact, to integrate this unconventional practices into big scale schools, the great logistic changes about the where, when, how and which way a student learning process becomes the target.

The traditional school day were the schedule was lead by a bell ringing, age based groups, classrooms of one teacher and a group of students are becoming more obsolete every day.
As new high-school models exhibit flexible and student centered learning and even out of campus experiences, students choose no longer go to school every day.
The digital model is pretty simple: the student’s learning central spine is online and the requirement is to go to school on assigned days. Thanks to today´s technology, learning can happen everywhere at any time and at different rhythms. Face-to-face time required on this model generally has two primary purposes:
To enrich the student’s learning experience with group work or an instruction directed by the teacher,
Make students responsible through regular face-to-face controls with their teachers and tutors
The effectiveness of the Flex Model will come to create a cohesive learning experience for students.
Thus, are online learning, off-line, and off-campus connected and mutually reinforced?, Are students on the way to earn basic academic credits and show an authentic domain to their teachers, mentors and classmates?, Does the face-to-face time require an intentional involvement of students to help them develop their academic and social-emotional skills? If the first one to adopt this model shows progress not only on the transformation of high school’s concept, but also a solid performance on the support of every students’ success, there is no doubt that the Flex Model will continue to shape the future of education.
Objectives of The Model
To generate learning in students through individual data, on-time comments and flexible ways. Generating control over the general rhythm but not on the individual which means that the students empower themselves based on controlling their own schedules, not on defined school time and getting information from any part of the world where technology leads them.
Preschool & Elementary
Our educational proposal for early childhood is based on the Emilio Reggia methodology, a methodology that states that children have all the capabilities, potential and curiosity to be the protagonists of their learning, that is, they are the ones who take the initiative, children learn through observation and exploration of their environment. Accompanied by the teacher, being a guide, who supports the construction of learning, in the exploration of topics, allowing students to be creative and interested in achieving meaningful learning.
Learning Corners
Learning Corners: The study space is important; therefore, it is necessary to organize and design the learning space, our school proposes for the youngest children the organization in “Learning Corners”, that is to organize the space according to four areas of knowledge suitable for children with an identity and purpose of learning (literacy, scientific, mathematical and artistic). These corners generate autonomy, independence and promote research, thus giving children the freedom to choose which activity they prefer to do. Ztudy shares a manual to make it easier for families to organize.
In this way, the family has a very important role. Parents/guardians participate actively in the learning process of the children, accompany them in the learning experiences and ensure the well-being of their children. With the corners, parents or guardians can daily know the results of the activities (videos, photos, drawings, writings) performed by the children and thus be able to know what are the interests, skills, and levels in which their children are. The axes of the method are:
- The student as the protagonist of his teaching process.
- The teacher as a student guide, through wisdom and academic challenges.
- Families with an active and fundamental role.
- Environments that promote motivation, teamwork and research.
Little Box of knowledge
We know the importance of the sense of touch in our little ones. Touching brings sensations and memories, for this reason, in each module Ztudy provides each student with a Little Box of Knowledge, with which the fun, the game and the experience of being a child will remain immersed. One theme per module.
Didactic Boxes: Additionally, Ztudy Global Education supports the learning process of elementary school students with a series of Didactic Boxes that are sent to homes, containing school utensils, didactic games and a list of age-appropriate materials to work on in each of the school periods (4 during the school year) as well as the institutional agenda, a stuffed animal allusive to our mascot (eagle). This didactic material supports the development of memory, reasoning, observation, concentration and reinforces the activities contained in the curriculum.
Live Lessons
In addition to its dual language approach, Ztudy Global Education offers a series of synchronous academic and social-emotional support activities on a weekly basis, students can participate in reading and writing clubs, conversation, physical activity, arts, music and technology. As well as meetings with the purpose of supporting families on issues related to parenting, study habits, time management.
