In nature, most animals do HomeSchooling (HS). Parents are in charge of educating their children until at a certain age, depending on the species, until they be on their own.

Humans, since they began to develop continued with this system in which the father and mother transmitted their knowledge and experiences to their children, who also learned from the other members of their social circle. In the 18th century the Prussian emperor (Today Germany) needed to create the best army in the world with the highest level of obedience and discipline in the world and created the Schooling process which was successful militarily speaking. This model was adapted to normal education and is the one that is used today in most schools in the world and displaced the home schooling that had existed for many centuries. In this system, children are segregated by age, stratum, race, culture, etc. All are expected to function under certain parameters that are not adapted to each child, who have different histories and homes. In the 60’s and 70’s there was the cultural revolution that revived HS trying to leave behind this school system and take it to many countries in the world.

What is it?

In the HS model, parents are once again co-protagonists, actively participating in their children’s education. By sharing and living with other people of different types and ages, children learn with pleasure. Children will learn from their experiences on a day-to-day basis and in this way they will be motivated for life. Implying?: HS is a lifestyle for the whole family where all members are integrated into out-of-school. Parents must leave their comfort zone where they are in that they send their children to school and they limit themselves to being told how their children are doing and what they are doing. Advantage: HS educated children learn by loving the process. Parents see them learning and participate in their experiences. They are also closer to them so that they will know their interests and passions and can guide their education towards them. The relationship with the children will be much closer and stronger, achieving much happier, more laid-back, confident and self-confident children. Children can also study at their own pace (faster or slower) according to their abilities without feeling the pressure of competition with their peers. Today all the information is available online to choose according to the child’s tastes. Another advantage, although not so important, is the lower costs that your children’s education will have.

Disadvantages

HS will demand a greater commitment from parents. It will take more time to get them out of their comfort zone. They will also have to learn to depend, at certain times, on their circles of family and closest friends who will provide support. The work theme will have to be adapted and probably cannot be of the fixed contract type but rather it should be of the self-entrepreneurship type.
